The Yass Rams are fighting to keep their finals hopes alive at this point in the season, and after a break this week due to ADFA forfeiting, the Rams will need to be at full force this Saturday at Crookwell against the Dogs.
Bronson Sainsbury of the Yass Rams said, “It is a bit of a must-win game for us against Crookwell this weekend. There is still an outside chance to make the finals if other results go our way. It’s really important that we win the next few games.
“It is only a slim chance that we will make the finals; it depends on the results going our way, and we’ll have to beat Jindabyne at home in our last game as well, which will be a tough challenge. We are still not totally out of it, so we will do our best to stick it out.
“Having a break hasn’t been a bad thing. It helps get over a few niggling injuries. Training didn’t happen at all last week, which was disappointing. The grounds were too wet. Hopefully, we’ll get some in this week and then get a strong run into the game on the weekend.
“The girls didn’t play as that was a washout. It was supposed to be a home game, but it was pretty wet again, so no game there either.
“We have got a really good relationship with Crookwell. We’re both pretty similar clubs, country teams from similar-sized towns, and we get on with them really well. We are very competitive when we get out on the field, but on a personal level, we both get on really well.
“It will be a tough game. It’s always tough to play Crookwell in Crookwell. It will be a game that’ll be played in the right spirits, so we will see how we go.
“The girls have been on a bit of a high after that win a couple of weeks ago, so I think they’ll go into this one feeling pretty good about themselves.
“It’s a tough trip up to Crookwell, and then it’s probably going to be a pretty cold day, but it would be great to see as many supporters as we can up there as we come towards the end of the season. We’ve only got two games left, so it’s your 2nd last chance to see the super team in action, and it would be good to see a few people out there.”
They take on Crookwell Dogs this Saturday.
