Binalong Brahmans Hunt for New Coaches Following Successful Season

The Binalong Brahmans are on the lookout for fresh leadership, with the club officially opening applications for both the First Grade and Women’s League Tag coaching positions for the 2026 season.

The search begins after a compelling 2025 campaign that saw the Brahmans’ finals hopes dashed by a narrow first-round loss to the Harden Hawks. The new appointments will follow the successful two-year tenure of co-coaches Chris Rawlinson and Tony Worthy, whose combined knowledge and guidance will leave significant boots to fill. Assuming, of course, that they are not to put their hat in the ring again this season, after all, the two men do bleed Brahman.

The Brahmans are eager for their next leader to be the one who finally breaks a long-standing drought. The 2026 season will mark 12 years since Binalong last lifted the George Tooke Shield, a period that has been characterised by both success and internal challenges. Despite the turbulence, Binalong has proven to be a consistent contender, securing a spot in the finals in the majority of seasons over the past decade. The club demonstrated incredible resilience by not only bouncing back but making the finals in 2024 and 2025, after being unable to field any teams at all during the 2023 season.

Club President Ben Spencer, a well-known stalwart of both the Binalong club and the wider community, will spearhead the recruitment process. The decision-making will rest with Spencer, who is expected to prioritise a candidate who can build on the recent success and potentially lead the Brahmans to their long-awaited premiership.
