There are just four rounds to play in the Yass District Cricket Association A Grade competition and it’s the Yass Golf Club that is holding on to a slender lead in a tight contest, across the 5 team competition.
YGC have shown their strength in the field with 45 wickets taken which has them sitting on 69 points and 635 runs.
The Dalton Dingoes are 6 points behind on 63 points, however, they have failed to do the damage with the bat they had hoped for this season, scoring just 249 runs with 25 wickets taken.
The Bowning Buffaloes (58 points) have been handy with the bat and scored 627 runs and have taken 26 wickets while conceding 437 runs.
Boorowa rounds out the top 4 on 53 points. They have managed 432 runs, but have only taken 11 wickets while conceding 307 runs.
The Gundaroo Goats will have to munch their way through a few wins if they are to make the top 4 and the finals series. They have managed just 261 runs, but they sit just 2 points outside finals contention.
The Harden Hornets (51 points) have been washed out a couple of times over the last few weeks but that hasn’t prevented them from leading the competition by 9 points over the Boorowa side who sit on 40 points.
Harden has scored 691 runs and taken 35 wickets, however, matches have been close with 643 runs scored against.
The Binalong Bushrangers sit in third position on 37 points and are on the hunt to improve their position on the ladder while the Yass Golf Club is further afield on 29 points, while Bookham appears to be struggling outside of finals series contention, on 24. They can still make the top 4 but need to improve.
