It’s that time of year again! The 2025 Yass Show is on 15 March 2025. A one day traditional agricultural show, with two days of Showjumping, it is an affordable day out for the family, with lots to see and do.
Spectator entry to Sunday showjumping is free. Gates open to the public from 8am to 5pm. Entry tickets can be pre purchased online, go to the web page yassshow.org.au and follow the links to tickets. Entry is also available at the gate on the day.
New to the show this year is a Dog High Jump competition, Giant Pumpkins, Decorated Pumpkins and a Junior Section in the Poultry Pavilion, including Best Pet Bird.
The camel rides will be back, as will Children’s Activities, and balloons, a Pet Competition, regular magician shows, an animal patting paddock and Show Bags.
The show will have lots to see and do, with a Shearing Competition, Wood-chopping, Yard Dog Trials, a full day of horse events, a Championship Dog Show, Poultry, Cattle, and Merino, British Breeds and Black and Coloured sheep. There are all the usual pavilion exhibits – cooking, jams and preserves, needlecraft, fruit, veggies, lego, handicrafts, plants, flowers, decorated wheelbarrows, wool, and honey.
Non-perishable entries are due in on Tuesday 11 March between 1 and 6 pm. Perishable items such as plants and flowers, fruit and vegetables and cooking are due in on Friday 14 March. Schedules and entry forms are available on the website: yassshow.org.au.
There will be working antique machinery, antique cars, and commercial exhibitors. Food is provided by local community groups and local vendors, and there will be local market type stalls. There will be no Sideshow Alley. The grand old lady of the Yass Showgrounds, the Grandstand, will not be available for public use or the Photography competition this year.
The Grandstand is undergoing a major restoration project, funded by the Australian Government under its Investing in our Communities Program. The new roof certainly makes a difference!
We are again running our Business Display Competition, with a pumpkin theme this year. This competition is open to all local businesses, regardless of their location and we have had a good number of entries.
If you are visiting Yass, check out the wonderful displays local businesses have put up to support our local region and the show. We are grateful for the support shown by our community, and our volunteers, without it running the show would be much harder.
