Delta Ag is running a project to help farmers get back on their feet after the floods, with the Purchase a Post fundraiser.
“Call into any Delta Ag branch and purchase a post for $8.05 including GST to help rebuild our farming communities who have been devastated by flood,” Delta Ag stated.
“Buy as many posts as you would like, 100 per cent of donations will be going to the flood relief.
“The Australian-made posts that you purchase will be distributed to communities in the Central West regions of Eugowra, Cowra, Canowindra and Forbes.

“Together, we can make a difference in this time of devastation.”
Sam Bucknell, Merchandise Manager of the Yass Delta Ag branch, spoke about the origin of the Purchase a Post Fundraiser.
“The origin of this is when the bushfires went through, we had customers who wanted to give a donation, and that donation was turned into fencing materials that Delta delivered to the customers that were in need,” Mr Bucknell said.

“This time, the floods are on, and we’re doing exactly the same thing. So come and purchase a post, a star picket, and help our friends out in the flood ravaged areas of New South Wales.”
Bucknell has a goal in mind of how many posts Delta Ag would want donated, but first, they’ll need the help of the public.
“We’ll get quite a few semi-trailers put together for them. It’s just a collective amount that everyone puts a little bit in, and it turns into a big pile of fencing material,” Mr Bucknell continued.
“Lots of small donations equal a big impact. We would like as many posts as possible.”
Once a flood goes through a region, fencing is one of the highest priority items that farmers need to re-establish.

“It’s very important to contain the stock to prevent further damage of crops and making sure the owners of that stock have them contained.
“Once we get the semi-trailers of posts put together, then we follow up with fencing trailers and help to get many kilometres put up quickly.
“The floods are still laying in the flat areas of New South Wales. Once they do go past in the next couple of weeks, the fencing will start straight away.
“We’ve got a couple of weeks window before farmers have to get out on the ground and get the fencing sorted. Make somebody else’s Christmas happy.”
Due to the timely nature of this appeal, Delta Ag needs all post purchases processed by Wednesday 14 December 2022.
“It’s probably best if people drop into the Delta Ag Yass branch and we’ll do an invoice up for them straightaway.”
