Get Amongst The Ladies Triathlon

Yass Valley Triathlon Club will be hosting a Free female event on February 16 at Victoria Park in Yass. The event will feature a 300m swim, 10km bike and 2.5km run and kicks off at 8am.

It is suggested to arrive at 7:45am to set up your transition and check-in. At 8am there will be a safety brief with a quick warm-up and then the swim will start.

When you arrive, park either at the pool car park or next to the amenities block in Victoria Park. Please keep the transition area next to the back gate of the pool clear.

The triathlon is a 300m swim (6 laps of the pool), 10km bike ride and 2.5km run. You can do the entire event solo, parts of it or complete it as a team.

There will be bike racks, so rack your bike, where possible back tyre first. The transition area is where you will swap from swim to bike and bike to run. This is where your gear will be stored for the race. You will have a small amount of space under or next to your bike.

The swim will be self-seeded into fast, medium and slow lanes. Swimmers will go up and down on the left side of their chosen lane. Swim aids are allowed and encouraged if needed.

Helmets must be on and done up before getting on your bike. Walk/run your bike to the mount line and mount your bike. Follow the volunteers’ directions. There will be volunteers in high visibility vests to assist with direction, both stationery and roaming. Road rules need to be followed i.e. give way and stop signs still apply to bike riders. There will be roaming bike riders to assist competitors and a car for any mechanical repairs. It is one loop of the train station. When re-entering Victoria Park, athletes will slow down, dismount their bike at the dismount point and walk/jog their bike back in their selected area and prepare for the run.

The run is five loops of the oval, please keep on the outside of the cones, run, jog or walk, just have fun!

There will be a water station on the oval, try and put your cup in the bin provided. The finish line is clearly marked and you will receive a finishers medal when you cross.
