Community Invited to Celebrate Opening of Crago Mill Precinct

The Yass Valley community is invited to celebrate the official opening of the Crago Mill Precinct, Yass at a Community Open Day on Saturday 9 May.

The morning will feature an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30am, followed by live music, children’s activities and food, with everyone welcome to explore the new library and Council facilities.

There is also an opportunity to purchase pre-used furniture at silent auctions scheduled for Saturday 9 May, 10am to 1pm (after the official opening of the Crago Mill Precinct) and Saturday 16 May, from 9am to 11am. More details about the pre-used furniture sale will be published shortly.

The precinct brings together Council services, community spaces, a modern library and an Emergency Operations Centre, creating a new place for the community to connect, learn and gather.

Yass Valley Mayor Jasmin Jones said the opening is a proud moment for the region.

“This is a special milestone for our community and a space that has been created for everyone to enjoy.

“The precinct will become a place where people come together – to connect, learn and be part of community life.”

Chief Executive Officer Gayleen Burley said the new facilities will support both staff and the wider community.

“These purpose-built facilities allow us to better serve our community now and into the future, and we’re excited to welcome people through the doors.”

The Crago Mill Precinct Community Open Day will be held from 9:00am to 11:30am, Saturday 9 May, at 209 Comur Street, Yass.
