Boorowa Tractors will be in attendance at the Field Days and the Times spoke with Manager Shane Croker (pictured below) about the up-coming event.
He said, “David and Milja Morris are the owners and directors and they started their business out on their property about 16 years ago and the business was known as the Little Red Tractor Shop.
“David is a Doctor and his love for machinery came from when he was a kid overseas. He has some land, so it’s another pastime to keep him busy and his mind occupied away from the operating table. He went into the machinery business im-porting machinery from China, India, Turkey and Poland to name a few.
“The business started to grow so he bought this block of land in town (Boorowa) and it changed over to Boorowa Tractors.
“I’ve been working for them for about 11 years now as the Manager/Mechanic and the business has grown from there on in.
“Although we import machinery from over-seas, we also offer service work, not just mechanical work on the Chinese and Indian machines, it’s on any brand of machine. If we can service it we are happy to help the clientele.
“It always brings in an extra bit of work and it’s another side for the business.
“Our main aim of the game at the business is the small or medium hobby farmer range. There’s the big farmer that will come in and buy equipment, but also the smaller trac-tors to do the lifestyle block for doing a bit of slashing, moving a bit of dirt, doing gardens and things like that.
“Our tractors range from 25 horsepower up to 110 horsepower in Indian and Chinese machines, so it’s a bit of everything.
“If we don’t sell the ma-chines we are happy to try and fix the machines that people have bought second-hand elsewhere.
“The 45 horsepower which is a quite a small tractor are very popular with the smaller hobby farmers in the past.
“In the Chinese range we have the Lovol 45 horsepower and also the 60hp, which is a moderate in between horsepower range which does the job that smaller hobby farmers need to do. “We will have a range of tractors at the Murrumbateman Field Days. We will have the 45hp and 60hp in the Lovol, a 110hp in the Lovell, which is a cab machine.
We will have an articulated loader there, which is 120hp, which is more for the bigger farmer moving a bit of hay about and we will probably have a 25hp tractor there as well with a hydraulic tipping trailer behind it and also a small seeder for the smaller blocks that want to put some oats or some-thing in and pasteurise their paddocks.
“We have been attending the Field Days for up to 15 years, I’ve been to 11 of them!
“It’s all about us going there and attending and letting the locals know within the region that we are committed to the sales and the service in the district.
“I have a mobile ute that I go out onto the field and do service work as well. “If you don’t do the sales on the day, word of mouth gets around. We have people that want to deal with us because we are local and they know they can get us back out to service the machines once they purchase them.
Boorowa Tractors will be located at site Y75 and Y81.
