Bobbara Hill Walk Is Back

The Bobbara Hill Walk is on Sunday from 8am to 1pm. This event stands to raise money for the Binalong Public School and is a very worthwhile cause.

Max Giles P and C President at BPS said, “We don’t know how many people we will get until the day. If there’s rain I don’t think there will be too much interest, but if there’s no rain it draws a few out.”

“Looking at the weather forecast I think it should be a good day. It’s just a Binalong Public School P & C fundraiser. We hold one now and we do another one in September.”

“The P&C is paying for the creative arts program at the school to continue that on. It’s for music, art, drama, etc to continue that on at school to give them more opportunities.”

The event comes with some caveats. “There’s no dogs allowed because it’s on a working farm and the owners don’t want roaming dogs on the farm and they do also have fox baits out.”

“We used to do lifts to the top on the side-by-side vehicle, but there’s no lifts to the top anymore due to insurance purposes.”

“Last time I think there was about 250 who climbed it. It’s very well supported.”

“This one is an additional one. The September one is our main Bobbara walk. We just found it quite easy compared to our spring fair with all the organisation and everything we have to go through. With that we nearly make the same amount of money for half a day’s work. We find it quite simple and people do come. If people are going to come we will keep doing it.”

“Money raised on the day varies. It’s just a donation to get in, but some people are really generous.”

The Lion’s Club is cooking the barbecue.
