Yass Valley Pony Clubs join forces at Murrumbateman

Three Yass Valley pony clubs came together on Sunday for a combined rally at Murrumbateman Recreation Ground.

More than 40 riders from Hall, Sutton and Murrumbateman pony clubs trained in dressage, jumping and cross-country riding at the grounds, coached by nine volunteer instructors,

ranging from very experienced to young instructors who previously attended Murrumbateman Pony Club.

Murrumbateman club president Gayle Herbert said bringing the clubs together helped develop links between the clubs’ riders and more importantly, their parents who supported the young riders in their sporting endeavours.

“We plan to run these combined days on a semi-regular basis, and being able to use the public arenas and the cross-country course at the Murrumbateman Recreation Ground makes this easy to do.

Once the horse yards are repositioned and water on at the yards, the equestrian precinct will become a drawcard for inter-club rallies.”
