Locals have the opportunity to thank a community member this upcoming Australia Day and let them know the difference they’ve made to our community by nominating them for a 2022 Yass Valley Australia Day Award.
Categories include:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Senior Citizen of the Year
- Community Group of the Year
- Individual Community Service
After a challenging two years, the awards offer a great chance to nominate outstanding individuals and groups that have made a significant contribution and difference to the Yass Valley.
Conditions of entry:
- Individual nominees must be a resident of the Yass Valley at the time of nomination.
- Previous nominees who have not received an award, are eligible to be nominated again.
- Community groups or organisations nominated must be located within Yass Valley.
- Young Citizen of the Year must be aged under 26 Years as of January 26, 2022.
- Senior Citizen of the Year must be aged over 65 as of January 26, 2022.
Nominations may be submitted by community groups, organisations, and individuals using the nomination form here.
Hard copies of the nomination form are available from Yass Library and Council’s Administration Office.
Nominations close at 5:00 pm on Friday, December 17.
