Yass Show improvements funding welcomed.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman has announced $23,326 in grant assistance for the Yass Show Society to undertake improvements to the showground.

Mrs Tuckerman said the money was made available through the 2019 Community Building Partnership Program.

“The Community Building Partnership program is designed to develop and enhance facilities that bring people together. There isn’t a more quintessential regional community event than the annual show.“

“The Yass Show Society will now be able to complete two dressage arenas and refurbish the canteen. They have recently purchased dressage equipment comprising two sets of rails and letters for the dressage arenas. They have also bought materials to allow for the replacement of the existing showground canteen roof and expansion of the canteen’s kitchen roof,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

Yass Show Society Chief Dressage Steward, Mrs Jill Doyle welcomed the funding from the state government which will provide for a professional dressage facility for all members of the community. Mrs Doyle also expressed appreciation for the state Government grant assistance. The Yass Show Society President Rob McAuliffe and Assistant Treasurer Catriona McAuliffe said the improvements to the canteen will contribute to a more workable and efficient area to service customers.
