The Yass Magpies held their Annual General Meeting on Monday night at the Yass Soldier’s Club. This is how the board looks after the 2022 AGM.

President: Tim Clayton

Vice President: Greg Smith

Secretary: Lisa Wylie

Treasurer: Greg Perceval

Committee: Adrian Davis, Mike Inkster, Mell Beck, Marianne Wright, Paul Leighton, Tyrell Gooley, Tim Puckett, Charlie Shepard, Sonia Davis and Ross Webster.

Yass Magpies Secretary Lisa Wylie was pleased the Club filled all roles for 2023.

“It was a good night, we filled all the roles and we’ve got a great committee so we’re all looking forward to 2023,” Lisa said.

“The team is really positive, we’ve got a new coach Adam Kyle who’s terrific so we’re excited for next year.

“The boys will have one more training run before Christmas and then will have a few weeks off before coming back in late January when they’ll kick off into the real preseason,”

The board remains the same as in previous years with all members proven hard workers who are dedicated to making the Yass Magpies Rugby League Club the best football team in the Canberra Raiders Cup.

The Magpies suffered through a tough season this year finishing bottom of the ladder after winning two from 16 games. The Magpies have made key offseason acquisitions such as Raiders Cup veteran forward Siope Naeata who signs from the Tuggeranong Vikings after previously playing for the Queanbeyan Blues and former QLD Cup outside back Tremayne Chatfield.

The Magpies will continue to make new signings in preparation for next season along with resuming training soon into the new year. With a strong board, coach and some great signings who knows, maybe next year will once again be the year of the Magpie.
