The Yass Redbacks managed the three wins from their five senior fixtures this week, making it a relatively fair day in comparison to their recent achievements through outright dominance in recent times.
The Division Two State League Men’s were winners, defeating Canberra Croatia 4-3 in a tight tussle.
The goal scorers for the Redbacks were James Boulcott with two, as well as Jonathan Granger and Blake Williams, who scored one apiece.
The Division Two State League Men’s Reserves had a massive victory against Canberra Croatia, winning 10-0.
The result was on the back of four goals to Brett Darmody and one each to John Goethals, Jonathan Granger, Brendon Scanes and Mitchell Darmody.
The Division Four State League Women’s side continued on with their incredible run of form, winning 5-2 against the Monaro Panthers.
Two goals to Melanie Bullock, and one each for Renee O’Loughlan, Victoria Alley and Cara Armstrong, were enough to see the Redbacks extend their lead at the top of the table.
The Division, Six State League Women, lost 5-0 to the Belwest Foxes in only their second loss for the year.
The Division Six Community League Men’s drew 1-1 vs ANU FC with a goal to Ryan Betts.
Despite the on-field success at the Redbacks this season, they still rely on too few volunteers to help run their club. They put a call out online during the week for more people to help set up their fields and run their canteen on matchday.
