Shake off those lockdown blues because the Murrumbateman Village Market is re-opening this Saturday, October 23 at Murrumbateman Recreation Grounds from 9am to 1pm.
With a focus on fresh locally grown produce and farm-to-plate meats, the markets are a surefire way to kickstart your weekend.
Delicious sweets, crafts and a Community Stall selling fresh local garden produce will also feature Market Committee member John Thorn said.
“We’ve got our Community Stall, which is a place where people who have excess food they grow in their gardens can sell,” he said.
In particular, they have a large range of heirloom tomato seedlings ready for planting for any patrons who want to test their green thumb.
“Our committees really keen to be back and we know that the public is because they’ve been telling us,” John said.
Live music will put a pep in your step while you’re shopping and if you’re also keen for a nibble grab a bite at the barbeque.
It will be run by Yass Can Assist, a not-for-profit organisation that aids families dealing with the burden of cancer, and headed by Cr Geoff and Jean Frost along with their team of volunteers.
The market is required to closely follow NSW Public Health orders so QR and manual check-ins are mandatory and available at the entrance.
Fully vaccinated people can enjoy the market in its entirety but those not yet double vaccinated can buy food and drink only and must leave the market straight away.
“Basically we’re separating the market into critical retail and non-critical,” he said. “Critical retail means that anybody can buy it but if you’re staying at the market, you have to be fully vaccinated.”
