Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman is proud to announce that the Yass and Murrumbateman communities are set to receive $355,290 in funding through the July 2024 round of the Infrastructure Grants Program, part of the Clubgrants Category 3 Fund.
Yass Swimming Club Incorporated will receive $297,290 to install a new heating system for the Yass Swimming Pool, ensuring the facility is accessible and comfortable for swimmers.
Murrumbateman Community Association will receive $58,000 to install new BBQs, shelters, and table settings, creating a welcoming space for community gatherings and outdoor events.
Mrs Tuckerman commended the organisations for their applications to the funding program, emphasising the positive impact their success will have for locals and the region’s recreational infrastructure.
“These projects are wonderful examples of infrastructure funding to improve local lifestyle, these two grants are supporting the social, health and recreation improvement in the Yass Valley.
The Yass Swimming Club welcomed the announcement, Race Secretary, Donna Wullaert noted that the club is still seeking support and a solution to overcome energy requirements.
“The Yass Swimming Pool is a valuable community asset, and this funding is the first step towards improving the facility and securing its future.
“With a new heating system, the Yass Swimming Club hopes to extend the swimming season and we also hope that warmer water will increase the utilisation of the facility, as well as local fitness and wellbeing opportunities for the entire region.
The NSW Government’s Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants program aims to fund community infrastructure to deliver outcomes for disadvantaged NSW communities.
