If you are yet to discover the Shaw Wines Cellar Door, then do yourself a “flavour” and get there – soon.
A true Yass Valley region wine destination, the award-winning architecture and design of the cellar door is matched by the quality and style of the wines that the Shaw Wines family operation produce.
All Shaw Wines are made with grapes sourced from their 70-acre vineyard in Murrumbateman and have collectively amassed a huge number of wine show medals and trophies.
This week’s “swirl” is no exception – the Shaw Wines Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2019.
The colour is a flashy, medium straw and a swirl reveals fresh cut grass, lemon zest, green apple with a hint of passion fruit and a sprinkle of dried herbs including oregano and sage.
In the mouth, it’s zingy and zippy with lively fresh tropical fruit salad flavours and a delicious lick of acid. Mouth-watering Sem-Sav this!
Like most good Sem-Sav’s, this can be enjoyed on a warm summers evening with freshly grilled seafood right off the barbie. The next release of this wine will hopefully be the 2021 vintage, fingers and toes crossed!
