Sixty second swirl wine of the week

Long Rail Gully Winemaker – Richard Parker

Brent Lello’s Sixty Second Swirl – wine of the week review is of a delightful drop from Long Rail Gully Wines, the 2019 Pinot Gris.

This variety is proving the goods here in the Yass Valley region, and the Parker’s have crafted an excellent example here.

The colour is brilliant straw with flashes of bright green. The swirl reveals aromas of freshly cut Beurre Bosc pear and white peach with a sprinkling of dried herbs.

The palate is ripe and smooth with fleshy stone fruit flavours and a mellow richness, perhaps from the partial barrel fermentation.

This Pinot Gris is cracking stuff. Enjoy this with lemon, garlic and thyme roasted chicken with grilled asparagus salad—$ 22 at the cellar door.
