While sport in Sydney and Melbourne has been put on hold due to the pandemic, it’s rain which has restricted our local sport in recent weeks.
The Yass Redbacks had all games, home and away called off on the weekend, with most of their teams also missing out on the weekend prior. The Senior Men’s sides are all playing at Walker Park on the Saturday at this stage, depending on how the ground recovers from the recent rain, starting with the Community League Men’s at 11:00 am. Their women’s sides will play at Wanniassa Playing Fields on Sunday with the Division 6 State League Women’s at 10:00 am and the Division Four at 2:00 pm.
The Yass Magpies missed out on playing on their Old Boys Day on the weekend in which all senior teams were supposed to play at Walker Park in front of a home crowd. Instead, the Magpies spent their Saturday at the Soldiers Club, watching the 2006 Magpies Grand Final on the big screen. The Magpies First Grade, Reserves and Ladies KFS will play the Tuggeranong Bushrangers with the Ladies opening things up at 12:00 pm at Greenway Oval. The Under 19’s will play against Crookwell at Crookwell Memorial Oval at 12:00 pm.
Both Binalong Brahmans games against Boorowa were washed out as well on the weekend. The Women’s League Tag side will play Crookwell also at Crookwell Memorial Oval starting at 1:15 pm. The Brahmans George Tooke side will follow them at 2:30 pm.
The Yass Roos has missed the last two weeks of play due to a forfeit from Ainslie and then had a washout against Molonglo on the weekend. The Roos have their Ladies Day against the Goulburn Swans starting at 2:00 pm on Saturday.
The Murrumbateman Eagles were washed out as well and this week have the bye.
