After The Hume District Police appealed to the public for assistance last week to locate missing 13-year-old Yass girl Rachael Widdows, she thankfully returned home safely over the weekend.
Widdows was last seen getting on a bus on Grampian Street, Yass, about 3.30pm on Monday (7 November 2022), prior to her going missing.
When she did not return home, officers from The Hume Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.
Police and family held serious concerns for her welfare due to her age.
Dave Cowell, Yass Police Inspector and Officer in Charge, gave an update on Widdows’ whereabouts and wellbeing.
“She has been located safe and well. She’s returned home,” Inspector Cowell said.
“We’re just very happy that she returned home and we were able to speak to her and that she was safe and well.”
