Local Sport Grant Program Applications Open

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman is encouraging sporting clubs and organisations to apply for upcoming grants.

Community sport organisations can now score a major funding boost, with applications open for the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program. Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the program provides grants up to $20,000, with up to $50,000 available in each NSW electorate. In 2022 and 2023, $3.5 million was awarded for 592 projects, including development clinics, uniforms and sporting equipment.

“The Goulburn electorate loves their sport and so many are in need of a cash injection so they can upgrade new facilities and boost participation,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

“This funding could help local clubs modernise their facilities or reduce barriers to enable more local people to participate in community sport and recreation activities.”

The program will focus on initiatives that enable more people to enjoy the benefits of playing sport, regardless of their age, gender, background or ability.

“The Local Sport Grant Program is about giving community sporting clubs a boost, by investing in clubs to improve facilities, enhance accessibility and hold new and exciting events and development programs that engage people of all ages and abilities.”

The program aims are as follows: – Increase regular and on-going participation in sport. – Increase participation opportunities for unrepresented groups. – Reduce barriers and improve access to participation in sport. – Assist sports clubs to provide quality experiences to their members and meet community needs. – Increase financial sustainability and improve facilities of community level sporting clubs.

Applications close 1pm Monday 27 November.
