An easy day trip out of Yass, Harden Kite Festival is an annual day of family fun and spectacular kite displays. Held on Saturday the 8th of October from 10 AM to 4 PM, the festival will showcase giant and colourful kites flown by kite flying enthusiasts and professional kite flyers from around the country. Past festivals have seen the skies of Harden filled with larger-than-life butterflies, crabs, spiders, whales, and cartoon characters.

You can fly your own kite free of charge, buy a kite there, or dazzle the sky by taking part in a kite-making and decorating workshop on the day.

The Harden Kite Festival promises a range of festival market stalls to browse, as well as fair rides and much fun for children of all ages at the Activity Alley. Also available are circus classes and an ‘all-day rides’ pass.

Children and grownups can drop into the face painting stall to spend the day as a tiger or other fun creature and enjoy coffee or tasty festival food, truck snacks and meals like corn dogs and fairy floss.

While having fun and flying kites at the Harden Kite Festival, you can also enjoy live music and entertainment.
