FESTIVAL  WEEK  IS  HERE  FOLKS!  15TH – 17TH  SEPTEMBER   2023

Our town is transforming with decorations thanks to volunteer teams working hard. Visitors have started to arrive in our beautiful  Yass Valley.

Pre-school and primary students will be treated to free concerts during the day to encourage an interest in music and performance. 

The committee are thrilled to announce that five of the artists performing this year have been nominated, and are finalists in the 2023 Folk Music awards, “Apolline”    “Austral”  “We Mavericks”  “LJ Parks”  “Rhys Crimmon”.

Tidal Moon will be back

The Celtic Markets at Riverbank Park will be an attraction for families and includes FREE entry, crafts, exhibitions, foods, and many performances from Musicians, both Saturday and Sunday 10 am-4 pm.

Circus McCabe will be a feature of the Markets again this year, with FREE entry and with performances, roving entertainment, plus a special free Circus Class for children, on Sunday at 2.30 pm. 

Venues are within a walking precinct.

Meehan St. Trader & Co. Lovat Chapel. St Augustine’s Church Hall.

Dutton St. Mt Carmel Performing Arts Centre.

Lead St. Liberty Theatre.

The Heritage Railway Museum will be open on Sunday for viewing.

Another FREE event is for youth, Children from 5 years to teenagers will have the opportunity to experience music and dance with Tutors

No experience is required, they bring an instrument if they have one, or tin whistles will be provided otherwise, Saturday and Sunday 9.30am-11.30am lunch provided on Sunday followed by a Concert at Lovat Chapel at 12.30pm to showcase their skills.

Entry point to the classes is via the ‘Hartigan Centre’ front gate. This feature is supported by the Irish National Association of Sydney.

Youth are encouraged to participate in the Poetry Events, with a competition on Saturday.

Tickets are online (check the website) or the link on Facebook. They will also be available in the office when the festival starts. The Office will be at the rear of the Soldiers Memorial Hall opening at 12 pm on Friday 15th September.
