“Incredibly sorry” Mobil owners act quickly after Yass Fuel Mishap

Diesel was mistakenly put into the Unleaded 91 pumps at Mobil Service Station in Yass on Friday. The error was apparently not discovered until the next day.

If you refuelled at the unleaded 91 pump between 10:30am on Friday and 11:00am on Saturday and are experiencing issues with your car, the local owners would like to hear from you. Contact Mobil Yass at (02) 6226 3140 to discuss.

Owner of the Mobil Service Station in Yass Naren Ankinapalli acted quickly, releasing the following statement:

“Dear Valued Customers,

We apologise for the inconvenience some of you may have experienced over the weekend at Mobil Yass.

We can confirm there was a driver error upon delivery and is currently being investigated.

All tanks have been checked, pumped out and Quality Fuels are now back in the tanks, with no signs of contamination.

If your vehicle has been affected during this time, please come and see our friendly staff at Mobil Yass with your proof of purchase, and mechanic reports and we will discuss further with you.”

We hope to see you all again. Apologies again, and thank you for your patience, cooperation and Support.”

Naren was reflecting on his time so far in Yass, and wanted to give this further message to what he describes as his “loyal cliental”.

“Since we started the business this town and community has supported me very well.”

“I put everything I had and a lot of money to start the business and I was panicking, but the locals here gave me wonderful support.”

“We are incredibly sorry for what happened, and hope the town will continue to support us,” he said.
