Rural Health inquiry extended to 15th, January 2021

Due to significant interest from stakeholders, the submission closing date has been extended for the Upper House Committee inquiry into health outcomes and services in rural, regional and remote New South Wales.

Committee Chair, the Hon. Greg Donnelly MLC said: “Recent media attention has continued to highlight issues around the provision of health services in rural, regional and remote areas of the state, including telehealth services. This inquiry is an opportunity for people living in these areas to have their views heard and for the committee to gather valuable information on health and patient outcomes in those areas.”

The committee will investigate a number of key issues including quality of care, staffing challenges, service availability and patient experience.

The committee welcomes submissions from interested stakeholders and members of the community, with submissions now extended until 15 January 2021.

For further information about the inquiry, including the terms of reference and how to make a submission, please visit the committee’s website.
