Yass Valley Council has received some startling information from its neighbouring Council, Goulburn Mulwaree Council, concerning the State Government’s Energy from Waste Infrastructure plan and the proposal for energy from a waste precinct at Tarago. The township of Tarago is located some 120 kilometers from Yass via main roads, however, is much closer as the crow flies to the Yass Valley.
According to the business paper, “Goulburn Mulwaree Council have expressed their opposition to the proposal at Tarago and indicate that the emission plumes will impact on the Yass Valley communities of Sutton, Gundaroo and the residents residing to the east of the Local Government Area.”
