Providing care for the elderly, people with disabilities, people recovering from illness, carers, people with dementia, and mothers.
Caring Approach believes in focusing on the individual needs of their clients and their families.
Caring Approach provides quality care for people in communities across Australia aiding their clients in maintaining a happy and healthy quality of life.
Everybody has the right to dignity and respect, and it is everyone’s right to choose the way they are supported and cared for. The support Caring Approach offers is designed to help each client engage in the daily activities they choose to participate in, enabling people to live independently.
ACT and Southern NSW General Manager Bill Aldcroft said the Yass positions are focused on out-of-hospital care which will include some personal and end-of-life care.
Experience in aged care or disability support work is highly desirable.
“Or someone that might have some lived experience,” Bill said. “For example, they might have been helping their mum when she came out of the hospital.”
Successful applicants will require a working with vulnerable people card, police check and must be double vaccinated, which Caring Approach can help with.
“If you want to connect with your community, be involved in your community, earn a good living and have consistent work, it’s a really good path.”
Bill said whether you are on your gap year, recently retired, looking for work between school drop off and pick up, or just a flexible well-paying job, then this may be the job for you.
Becoming an essential worker and gaining consistent work throughout Covid shutdowns and stay-at-home orders may be a valuable benefit of this role.
Many shifts are usually an hour or two but there may be several different clients around town allowing a successful applicant to work full-time hours if they wish.
The tasks are quite varied from hanging out the washing, cleaning, grocery shopping, driving clients around town for errands, sitting with a client while their carer is out, or assisting with showering.
For example, a client may have broken their hip and while they’re out of hospital in recovery they need someone to do some grocery shopping, clean the house and take them to the dentist.
“The clients or the participants, are all high functioning people who will talk them through what they need to do.”
Caring Approach currently have four positions available in Yass and pay is negotiable depending on experience.
