A break-in at the former Landmark building on MacDonald Street in Yass last week resulted in two arrests.
Police were called to the premises early Friday morning where upon arrival two men aged 42 and 40 were allegedly detained by employees and were spoken to by police before being released.
Following further investigation police confirmed that the premises had been broken into earlier in the morning.
Power tools, including a nail gun, rattle gun and ramset gun, were allegedly stolen.
At about 11:20am police attended a residential address in Yass and arrested the 40-year-old male in relation to the incident.
He was taken to Yass Police Station and later charged with aggravated break and enter, commit serious indicatable offence and aggravated break with intent to steal. He appeared before Goulburn Local Court and is on conditional bail to re-appear on April 6, 2022.
Later that evening police then arrested the 42-year-old man in Goulburn and was taken to Goulburn Police station. He was also charged with aggravated break and enter, commit serious indicatable offence and aggravated break with intent to steal.
He appeared before Goulburn Local Court was refused bail and was set to re-appear on February 16, 2022.
Inspector David Cowell, officer in charge of Yass Police Station, praised the employees for their assistance.
“This is another example of the police and public working together to make the community safer,” he said.
