Branch Staff: Julie Dunn, Darren Manton, Natalie Prosper, Greg Pryor and Sam Pye (Absent Cath Carmody)

Belinda Reid, Chair of Boorowa Community Financial Services Limited, operators of Community Bank Boorowa, has announced plans to broaden the reach of community banking across the region and to expand the range of services and community strengthening initiatives on offer to customers.

Ms Reid said: “It’s important to know that your local Community Bank can provide for all your banking needs. We offer a full banking service from 6 staff with a combined banking experience of more than 100 years, delivering the products and technology you’d expect from a big bank – but with the personal service you may have been missing.

“In a changing banking landscape, Community Bank Boorowa offers direct phone and email contact to our branch, in-branch and mobile home lending options with digital application capability, access to specialised experienced Agri Finance lenders and business and commercial lending.

“It’s all about building relationships and delivering what local customers want in the way they want it. This approach has helped us become one of Australia’s most trusted brands. We’re better than a big four bank because we are bigger for what matters most to customers. For your money, for your business, for your community and for you.”

Bank Local

“Community banking is based on a ‘profit-with-purpose’ model, which means our profits are returned directly to the community that has generated them. We may have grown into Australia’s 5th biggest retail bank with more than 2.5 million customers nationally, but our heritage remains firmly local, as does our focus”, Ms Reid said.

“Community Bank Boorowa was established 23 years ago and is a locally owned and operated franchise. Everyday our customers help change lives, simply by doing their banking with us which has meant that we have been able to provide more than $3 million in sponsorships, scholarships, grants and other benefits to the local community over that time. In fact, community contributions in 2022/3 alone totalled $78,800.

Far and wide

“Community Bank Boorowa has become increasingly popular with customers from all around the district, which is understandable, given that we are an easy drive with abundant parking and surrounded by excellent coffee shops and great places to eat and shop.

“In recognition of our growing customer footprint, we are looking to extend our annual student scholarship program to include applicants from Yass, along with considering community grants for clubs and other community groups who choose to do their banking with us.

“We are also currently recruiting to expand our mobile home lending service and remain committed to serving the Yass community from our hub in Boorowa assisted by our digital capabilities and backed up with face-to-face banking on the occasions that customers still need to drop in. In short, we’re digital by design, but human when it matters, so please drop in and see us soon at 32 Marsden Street, Boorowa or call the branch on (02) 6385 3277.”
